19km of very flat paths alongside the road. Incredibly strong wind made what was going to be an easy day hard work. Along the way we popped into a 13th century knights templar church which was very beautiful. Outside was one of the many sculptures of pilgrims found in virtually every village. On to Carrion and booked into the hostel espiritu Santo. Very nice with fantastic showers and single beds rather than bunks. It’s the simple things. Washing done and feet moisturised. Blister count so far = 0. Long day tomorrow with 26km of uphill. The first 17 are without a village or stop in sight. Maybe another 4 days before a rest day to allow feet and legs to recover. At the end of the day tomorrow we will have walked exactly half the distance from St Jean pied de port to Santiago. Only another 395km to go.
